Today's the Day!

Happy 60th Anniversary Mom and Dad!
We had such a fantastic celebration on Feb. 2nd! Dad is not one to celebrate early, but we talked him into it this year! So many friends and family came from far away to honor them. We are grateful to everyone who came and sent cards. You have added love and joy to Mom and Dad and to our family! God has truly blessed us with many wonderful years and many wonderful friends!
Love to you all!

BIG DAY: Feb. 2, 2008

In fact, today (Jan. 8th), marks just 25 days until the big celebration. We have been so excited to hear of those of you who are coming and appreciate so many cards of congratulations that have been sent to Mom and Dad. Their actual anniversary is Feb. 15th but we talked the into celebrating early so that more family can come. You see, their 6th great grandchild is due in early March - perhaps even late Feb. so we planned the party early. That's fine with us, because we normally spread the fun out as long as it takes to plan another party!
If you will not be able to attend, you can comment on this blog and we'll add your message or special memory to the celebration!

We are ready to party!

CHRISTMAS MEMORIES

As I was sewing a red skirt for KaliAnn yesterday, by mind floated back to mom (sometimes last minute) putting the finishing touches on my Christmas dress just in time for the Christmas Eve program at church. The skirt I made for KaliAnn was very simple - MY Christmas dress was NEVER plain or simple! I finished the skirt in an hour - MY dress would take days. We were always the best dressed on stage and couldn't wait for our bag of peanuts and fruit after the program! Other memories....soup on Christmas Eve, Christmas dinner and fun with the Norbergs, getting my "surprise" bicycle, and of course the year(s?) of the silver Christmas tree.
What do you remember?

50th Anniversary Song

To the tune of Beverly Hillbillies
written by Larry
Performed by the outlaws
At the 50th Wedding Anniversary Celebration

Come 'n listen to my story 'bout a man named Ensz,
A young farmer boy who was shy with all his friends.
And then one day he was sittin' in his school,
And there was a girl who was truly a jewel.
Dona, that is, Kehn girl, very cute.

Well the next thing you know they make a pretty pair,
Kin folks said, you should settle down right here.
So, the marriage was blessed and really nifty,
And now they're celebratin' number fifty.
Years, that is, five kids, sixteen grandbabies.

Well, now it's time to wish them all the best,
To be married so long shows true love never rests.
We're all so lucky to be in the family,
and join in the fun of this festive jubilee.
Anniversary, that is, stay a while and share some smiles.
